These terms apply to every car rented from DriveX Car Rental in Dubai once the required documents have been provided. Please read them before booking. If anything is unclear, message us on WhatsApp and our team will explain.
Security Deposit
1Security Deposit Collection
- Unless your booking is made under a no-deposit offer, a security deposit is collected at the start of the rental period.
- The deposit is a financial guarantee for the rental company. It covers possible damage to the vehicle, traffic fines, Salik toll charges and any other incidental costs that may arise during the rental period.
2Deposit Amount
- The security deposit starts from AED 1,000 and can reach AED 3,000, depending on the type and value of the vehicle.
- The exact amount for your car is confirmed to you at the time of booking.

3Payment Methods
- The security deposit can be blocked on a credit card.
- Cash deposits in UAE dirhams (AED) are accepted in Dubai.
- Bank transfers from accounts outside the United Arab Emirates are accepted. All transfer fees must be covered by the customer.

4Use of the Deposit
- The deposit is used to cover damage to the vehicle, unpaid traffic fines, Salik toll charges, late return fees and any other costs incurred during the rental period.
- Traffic violations committed during the rental period are often reported by the RTA and Dubai Police after the car has been returned. The deposit is held so that these violations can be settled.
5Refund Process
- The deposit is refunded within a maximum of 30 days from the date the vehicle is returned, after the car has been inspected and all outstanding charges have been settled.
- The 30-day period is needed because RTA and Dubai Police violations can take time to appear in the system. For this reason, refunds cannot be made earlier.
- For bank transfers, any currency conversion or transfer fees are the responsibility of the customer.
6Conditions for Withholding the Deposit
- All or part of the deposit may be withheld if the vehicle is returned damaged, or if there are unpaid traffic fines, Salik toll charges, late return fees or other applicable charges.
- An itemised statement of any deductions from the deposit will be provided to the customer.
7Inspection and Notification
- The vehicle is inspected when it is returned. Customers are informed of any issue that may lead to a deduction from the deposit.
- Any dispute about a deduction must be raised within 10 days of receiving the itemised statement.

Charges Collected for Car Rental

Other Rules and Charges
1Smoking
- Smoking in the vehicle is not allowed. It incurs a fine of AED 1,000 from Dubai Police and a penalty of AED 500 from DriveX Car Rental.
2Fuel Policy
- Vehicles are delivered with a full tank, and customers are responsible for keeping the initial fuel level.
- The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level it was delivered with. Otherwise, additional charges may apply.
3Traffic Violations and Salik
- Each traffic violation incurs an administrative fee of AED 50.
- Salik toll charges are AED 6 per passage.
4Cleanliness
- Car wash costs are the responsibility of the customer. Please keep the interior of the car clean.
